News:
Let me first start by saying what a success 2010 turned out to be. Our venture into having 2 cruise-ins a month at McDonald's allowed us the opportunity to actually have shows in the spring. Over the past couple of years, it seemed that, because of weather related issues we sometimes weren't having a show to speak of until the month of June. In 2010, our April show saw the largest turn out we have had, (approx. 300 cars), it was beneficial to the McDonald's of Sellersburg as well as our club as we made some money to support our charities. The manager of the McDonald's told us that the store set a record for hourly sales as well as daily sales.( I guess we all work well together)
Atlas Machine and Supply for a second year in a row, stepped up to be our "event sponsor" for our Cruisin"' Speed Park Show. With Atlas as the sole event sponsor, they get their logo printed on the rear of the event T-shirt in very large print. This shirt was given to pre-registered participants at our July 10th show and also sold throughout the summer at other shows we were affiliated with. This year saw the addition of a second T-shirt be printed by the club. The "cruisin' all summer long with American Classics Car Club", featured a design different from the event shirt and with the sponsorship of 9 local businesses. This shirt was not available at our "Cruisin' Speed Park" but was sold throughout the summer at McDonald's and other shows we participated in.
In 2010, American Classics Car Club donated $500 to The Crusade For Children, we also donated $1200 to The Ronald McDonald House in Louisville KY. Donated money was raised from 50/50 ticket sales, t-shirt sales, Hot Wheels drag racing events and donations. In October we held a canned food drive to benefit the Speed Church Food Pantry that was the largest canned food drive we have had to date. We held a successful toy collection at one of the October shows, to collect toys for The Sellersburg Police Dept. and their Christmas For Kids Program.
We also worked hand in hand with the Tri-County Shrine Club on Potter's Lane in Clarksville IN. to help in hosting a show to benefit their charity and The New Albany IN. FOP # 99 and their Christmas Program for kids. October was unique in the fact that there were 5 Fidays in 2010. We used the fifth Friday to work with McDonald's and held a "TRUNK OR TREAT" show. The weather was somewhat in our favor and although it was bright and sunny, there was an autumn crispness in the air. It was better than anyone expected for our first attempt at a Halloween show. There was approx. 100 cars with Treats and nearly 1000 kids and adults dressed in scary costumes at the show. It was such a success, we want to expand on the theme and make it grow for 2011.
American Classics Car Club also worked with The Moose Family Center in Sellersburg, The American Legion in Sellersburg, Buckets Bar & Grille in Jeffersonville and The Clark County Shop with A Cop.
We would like to take this opportunity to THANK all the people that attend our shows and cruise-ins. Thank you for your support and participating in our shenanigans and allowing us to spend time with our friends.
Also, THANK YOU to all the companies and individuals that donate door prizes and help sponsor our shows. Door prizes are a very big part of what we do and how we do it. Hopefully it brings recognition and profitability to your business or organization. Car enthusiasts that attend our shows are encouraged to call on these companies when they are in need of services or products provided by them.
2010 was also the first time that the Indiana Street Rod Association participated in our July "Cruisin' Speed Park" show. The ISRA trailer was positioned at the show for all access, so enthusiasts could be kept up to date on legislature and government involvement in our hobby.

The winner of the 8,000 lb. four post lift is Buster Poindexter of Jeffersonville IN.
Cruisin' Speed Park was a huge success. We had 155 awesome cars, trucks, and motorcycles on hand plus 15 club cars and The ISRA President from Inianapolis area. Ms. Eva Soules (pin-up girl, calender model) from Complete Hydraulics came to the show and posed for pics with cars and helped in drawing the winning ticket for the lift. We grilled burgers, hot dogs and brats, we sold cold drinks and water, we gave away a large amount of door prizes, we had our largest 50/50 half pot to date. We also sold T-shirts and dash plaques and had a huge successful auction.
We donated $200.00 to The Sellersburg "CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS" program this year. We also donated over $200.00 to The Speed Church Food Pantry by way of purchasing canned goods to go along with collected canned goods from our show. The food pantry distributes food to needy families in the Sellersburg, Memphis and Henryville IN areas.
We donated $2000.00 to the Ronald McDonald House in Louisville KY. this year. There is a room at that facility with the name of The Club as a sponsor. While our name is on the room, it represents everyone that comes to our shows and participates in our fundraising.
From me,
Thank you to everyone who helped in any way shape or form. Thank you to the cooks, the wives for helping with judging, registration and working the gate. Thank you to all that donated door prizes and sponsored trophies. Thank you to Atlas Machine & Supply for being our event sponsor. Thank you to all that donated items for the "goodie bags" and thank you to all family members and friends that gathered door prizes and contributed in everything that was done in preperation for the show.
